## How usage works

**Credits are just dollars.** 1 credit = $1 of metered usage. Each plan includes a monthly allowance for building, running, and hosting the tools you keep.

**Charged to the API key.** No plan field at provision time. Agents authenticate with a key and usage is billed to it. Limits come from the account behind the key.

**You set the ceiling.** Set an account-wide budget cap. Hit it and work stops spending, so a runaway build cannot create a surprise bill.

## Questions

**What's a credit?**

A credit is $1 of metered usage (compute + AI). Each plan includes a monthly credit allowance; you can see usage in real time on your dashboard.

**What happens when I run out?**

Paid plans roll into overage at ~1.2-1.4x the base rate, depending on plan. The Free plan hard-stops. Either way, your account's budget cap is the hard ceiling.

**Can an assistant create surprise costs?**

No. Assistants can create work and incur usage, but only inside the budget cap you set on the account.

**How do agents provision servers?**

Over MCP (the create_server tool) or a REST call authenticated by the agent's API key. There's no plan field and no human approval in the request.

**Do servers persist?**

Yes. Each agent's server keeps its workspace and state between tasks, and idle servers scale to zero so you're not paying for nothing.

**Can I run many agents?**

Yes. Issue an API key per agent (or share one) and scope each key to the servers/projects it needs. Usage from every key rolls up against your account's single budget cap.

**Can my engineering team take over something we started?**

Yes. Each project keeps a full workspace your engineers can open in browser VS Code and continue building in, with the same files the build agent used and a history of every change.

**What does a team member get?**

Invite people by email and pick a role. Members build: servers, projects, secrets and keys, all inside your account. Admins can also invite and remove people. Only you, the owner, can change the plan or see the card. Free is a single-person account; every paid plan includes seats, and the count above is the whole team including you.

**Can I share a live app with my team without making it public?**

Yes. A project with a live URL can be set to team access, which means opening it takes a Server4Agent sign-in and membership of your account. You can narrow it further to named people. Anyone else gets a page telling them they do not have access, and never sees the app.

**What cloud do you run on?**

We run and manage the compute for you, so the product feels the same regardless of which AI assistant you connect. On Enterprise, you can bring your own cloud: we deploy into your account and you keep the keys.
